terms, conditions, and regulations

By entering to 15th Indonesian Film Festival Short Film Competition (15th IFF SFC), All filmmakers should agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. A failure to abide by these terms and conditions would result in entrant ineligibility for the competition. 

All filmmakers should adhere to the following requirements

  • Each film should be based on 15th IFF SFC’s Theme: Changing of Patterns
  • The 15th Indonesian Film Festival Short Film Competition (15th IFF SFC) is open to all students (at least one of Director, Writer and DOP is a student) from any country.
  • Each filmmaker may only submit one short film. 
  • The short film could be of any genre, however, we do not accept animation. 
  • Each short film should be maximum 15 minutes in length (Including titles and credits). 
  • Films could be in any language. However, English subtitle must be included. 
  • Short films produced only after 31 December 2017 is eligible for the competition. 
  • All contents in your film (including footage, music, images, etc.) should be from your own production.

Submission Procedure

  • There is no registration fee. 
  • Each film has to comply with the following dates to be eligible in 15th IFF SFC:
    • Submission Open: 4th November 2019 at 11:00 AEDT
    • Submission Close: 2nd March 2020 at 23:59 AEDT
  • Short film must only be submitted via YouTube, Google Form, or Vimeo. Please ensure that the YouTube link private settings must be changed to “Unlisted”. The link should be submitted in the 15th IFF SFC Submission Form. IFF Committee will then send a confirmation email following your submission. 
  • Failure to submit the YouTube, Google Form, or Vimeo link in 15th IFF SFC Submission Form will lead to the short film not being considered.
  • The short film must be submitted within the admission date and adheres to all terms and regulations stated in this document. Any late entry or failure to adhere to the rules will not be tolerated.


  • The judging criteria will be based on:
    1. Storytelling 
    2. Creativity and Originality
    3. Engagement 
    4. Technical quality
    5. Content and relevance to the theme
  • The judging panel selects the best film as the winner.
  • The best film award is determined by counting the number of likes in our Social Media (Only eligible for top 10)
  • The winner of the best film award will receive the following prizes:
    • Certificate of Award
    • AUD $750 Cash 
    • Personalized feedback from the judging panels
    • The winning short film will be screened in the 15th IFF Opening Night event on 24th April 2020
  • The best film awardee will be presented with an Excellence Certificate and will be given special feedback from the judging panels.
