The 4th Wall is a discussion that takes reference from late night talk shows, with guests ranging from prominent Indonesian film directors to emerging figures in the Indonesian film industry. The talk focuses on the condition of the developing Indonesian film industry. Accompanying this event are Indonesia’s big names including Jay Subyakto, Ayu Laksmi and Karina Salim.
This year’s 4th Wall tackles the topic of ‘Insight’, giving a fresh and deeper look into the makings of Indonesian blockbuster films. The event will feature an in-depth and close-up interview as to how something that begins with simple ideas are realized into something as intricate as films, and how much teamwork and process go into it. This special event will also be accompanied by Indonesian favorite bites and mingling sessions where you can have a special chance to snap a picture with our guest stars!
Jay Subyakto’s first documentary film won the 2017 Maya Awards and was nominated for Citra Awards for the best long documentary category. He has worked alongside Indonesia’s greatest talents, such as Chrisye and Anggun C. Sasmi.
Ayu Laksmi was nominated as Best Lead Actress in Indonesia Film Festival 2008 with her debut film. She has since starred in various films, including the festival’s opening film, Satan’s Slaves.
Karina Salim started her debut in a feature film in 2013. Only a year later, she won the Best Female Newcomer award at Indonesian Movie Awards 2014.
